The Ann Arbor had a modest number of flat cars on the roster, many of which were on temporary assignment from the DT&I in the late 60s and early 70s. While not all had bulkheads, a few were so equipped and in service between Wisconsin and Clare to move lumber products. As fate would have it, when an eBay order for a Walthers lumber flat car arrived with a broken-off bulkhead, I was able to make up some styrene parts to revise the bulkhead profile to better fit the DTI/AA prototype. After validating the correct bulkhead car numbers and adding some appropriate decals and ladder details, this was a very easy modeling project to add a couple of unique cars to my N Scale fleet.
